Helen Hunt Jackson was an author of children's novels, and poetry. She suffered from poor health, a doctor recommended a change in climate. A few years later she went to Colorado. Then, during her trip to Colorado she met William Jackson, and they got married.
Molly Brown
Molly Brown's original name was Margret Tobin. After she married James Brown it became Margret Brown. When she was 18 she moved to Leadville, Colorado. Then when James became rich they moved to Denver together.

Katherine Lee Bates
Katherine Lee Bates was from Falmouth, Massachusetts. She climbed to the top of
Pikes Peak. She said she was changed by the scenery. She even wrote the poem "America The Beautiful". Then a while later the poem became a song. |
Chief Ouray Chief Ouray was a Ute Leader. His name means "The Arrow". In 1868 he gave up some of his land to stop settlers from taking it all. U.S settlers ignored it. They began mining on Ute land.
Malcom Scott Carpenter
Malcom Scott Carpenter lived in the high city, Boulder. He got a degree at Colorado University in Aeronautical engineering in 1949. Also in 1949 he became a U.S Navy citizen. He flew a lot of dangerous missions during the Korean war. In 1959 he was chosen as one of the 7 people in the Mercury project.
